Aintree House

Glen Iris, Victoria, Australia | 2024

Work Scope:  Architecture, Interior design

At Wang Architects, we take pride in transforming challenges into opportunities, and this house exemplifies our approach. The site presented us with a significant elevation difference, which we embraced rather than avoided. In response to the height limit, we designed an impressive void space at the entrance. This bold architectural move, combined with the use of high, featured metal windows, creates a striking façade that immediately catches the eye. As you step inside, the design offers a unique visual experience, setting the tone for the rest of the house.

The interior design of this residence balances warmth with a touch of modern elegance. We carefully selected a palette centred around terracotta red, a colour that evokes a sense of comfort and familiarity. This earthy hue is seamlessly integrated throughout the home, harmonizing with light wood finishes and stone accents. The result is a cohesive and inviting atmosphere that is anything but ordinary.

Every aspect of the design was thoughtfully considered to ensure that the home not only meets but exceeds the expectations of the homeowners. At Wang Architects, we believe that each project should be as unique as the clients we serve. This house is a testament to our commitment to creating personalised spaces that reflect the specific functional and aesthetic needs of each family. By blending innovative architectural solutions with thoughtful design, we have created a home that is not only visually stunning but also deeply welcoming.
